Dear Blog,
I apologize for my absence. You know I've been travelling, first to E3 and then the east coast. And when I got back, we were in a post-E3 crunch and I had all my friends to catch up with, and photos to edit. But I'm back, and I'm going to make things right with us.
As with many technical people, I like to tinker with your backend. For example, check out this somewhat prioritized list of changes I've got planned for you:
But I also know I need to keep you posted regularly--the sweetest backend don't mean a thing without content. It's partly a matter of audience; I know we started with the intent of being solely a gamedev blog for the TerraNova folks, but it's hard enough keeping up with the academics and journalists, let alone finding and commenting on original content without relinking too much.
Through a combination of wanting to become a better storyteller, being a new blog author, and hubris, I'm going to open up the range of topics a bit. We can resort the data later, or even split you into multiple blogs as you evolve. Unlike a standalone portfolio site, it's hard to preplan all the details for a living site without quashing creativity. So let's just run with it and deal with fixing permalinks later, dig?
Rock on, crouton.

Posted by: mali at June 4, 2004 06:24 AMOh yeah, I forgot. What do you need to do all this stuff for if you never update your site?? Subblog? with no entries in it?
*ducks*
